Everest Cup History
The Everest Cup is a legacy sporting event that was initiated by Sherpa Football Club (Sherpa FC) in 2020. Since its inception, it has served as a platform to unite Nepalese youths and adults through football, fostering a spirit of community, sportsmanship, and cultural appreciation.
In 2023, Gurkha FC took over the hosting responsibilities and successfully organised the third edition of the tournament with 16 teams participating from various parts of New Zealand. The event witnessed overwhelming enthusiasm and a significant audience turnout, making it one of the most celebrated Nepalese football tournaments in the country.
